CDOT is planning Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) for Colorado Boulevard, and two design alternatives would dedicate existing traffic lanes for bus traffic only.
CDOT is now collecting feedback on the Colorado Boulevard BRT design alternatives, and you have an opportunity to weigh in.
Many neighbors have repeatedly expressed frustration with worsening congestion, cut-through traffic, aggressive driving on side streets, and the cumulative impact of ongoing development and reduced road throughput in our surrounding area. Do you think dedicating existing traffic lanes to buses would improve these conditions, or make them worse?
CDOT presents BRT as a way to improve mobility on Colorado Boulevard. At the same time, its projected ridership increase appears modest compared to the daily vehicle traffic already using the corridor, so residents should make sure the survey reflects real neighborhood concerns: traffic diverting around congestion onto residential streets, pedestrian safety, emergency access, vehicle delay, and whether lane reductions would worsen existing problems.
In the survey, you can vote for one of the three BRT alternatives or for none of them—the “No Build” alternative.
